About

Madina Madrassa has been established on the 15th of May 2015 and have been providing prayer facilities since February 2015. Madina Madrasa is under the umbrella of Darassalaam. Both masjids work together to support the spiritual and educational needs of the Muslims.

Madina Madrassa runs a well-established Madrasah providing a vital community education programme for children in the local and surrounding areas.

At Madina Madrassa, our aim is to educate and empower our younger generation through knowledge, wisdom and good morals.

Madina Madrassa provides structured learning for boys and girls from age 5, up to the age of 16. In order to create an atmosphere of correct Islamic morals and etiquettes, our classes are taught in gender appropriate environments. We currently have limited the number of students to 70. However, both masjids combined contain approximately 400 students currently learning. We also have a Hifz class for children who wish to memorise the holy Quran.

We currently have 6 qualified teaching staff, all of whom are DBS checked. The Madrassah also has policies in place such as health and safety, child protection, fire evacuation and safeguarding. We make every effort to ensure that the children are taught in a safe and friendly environment whilst at Madrassah. The staff also receive regular teacher training.

The education of the child begins with the basic Arabic alphabet, with emphasis placed on correct pronunciation of the letters (Tajweed), moving on to more advanced Qura’nic learning.

The Madrassah has an Islamic Studies syllabus which is taught to the children alongside Quranic recitation. Topics we cover include:

  • Islamic belief (aqaaid)
  • Seerah (life of our prophet Mohammad pbuh)
  • Islamic fiqh (jurisprudence)
  • Guidance on Islamic manners, morals and etiquettes

The Madrassah has a yearly award ceremony with certificates and prizes awarded to students based on overall attendance and performance in the exams. Children are taught Islamic studies and Tajweed to a very high standard and consistently excel in end of year exams.

Through teachings of the Quran and Sunnah, we aspire to nurture and educate our students with the knowledge and practice needed to uphold good Islamic values.
